About Me

My name is Paula Louis-Fernand, I am the founder and director of Introspective Therapy; a talk therapy service. I am an integrative therapist and coach which means I am qualified in both coaching and therapy. I combine a range of theoretical approaches used in psychotherapy, coupled with a variety of coaching styles and techniques. I began my private practice in 2016 and before that i worked as a 1-1 learning support mentor and a group therapy facilitator for a substance misuse organisation. I also carried-out 1-1 therapy for clients within the organisation.
I believe that our past, particularly our childhood experiences, plays a significant role in shaping who we are today. These early experiences influence the way we think, feel, and behave, as well as the patterns and habits we develop. Our family dynamics and the environment of our childhood home also have a profound impact on our perspectives and experiences. As a trauma-informed therapist, I recognise that childhood trauma can affect our ability to navigate life's challenges, often impacting our mental, emotional, and physical health. The mind and body are deeply interconnected, and the emotional and mental stresses we experience over time can have lasting effects on our physical wellbeing.

I offer a safe, confidential and non-judgmental space. Together we will unpack and explore what you're carrying within. This includes any feelings and deeper emotions that may be preventing you from moving forward. I will help you gain an alternative perspective, so you can discover healthier ways of coping.

Testimonials
"Paula is a great listener, with a natural flare and sensitivity to hear individual narratives. Paula's empathic style fundamentally underpins her professional attributes as a Coach allowing space for personal growth and development."
Jennifer (35, London)
"Having sessions with Paula was exhilarating as I had the opportunity to dig deep into my feelings and find out things about myself that I wasn't previously aware of. Paula has a sense of warmth and understanding that I don't really receive from people in my everyday life. There's a welcoming nature when you sit down with her. Paula has helped me through difficult times and I am much appreciative of that."
Nadia (28, London)
"I find Paula a personable but yet professional competence. I was recommended to Paula when I was in a very mentally and emotionally challenging place. At once I reconciled a forgotten hope with her. I followed some very profound wise council from her and began to rebuild my life. With gratitude and thanks."
Brett (45, London)
"It was an eye-opener for me to have sessions with Paula. She helped me find myself 'the true me' and guided me to be myself. I am a lot happier now and feeling in charge of my life. Thanks Paula."
